These hen meatballs are tender, juicy, and swimming in a great flavorful creamy sauce that coats every one simply so. I realize what you are thinking: “I need those in my mouth now!” I do not blame you. Now believe some of those lofty meatballs over a hefty bowl of buttered egg noodles… or atop a mountain of creamy mashed potatoes… or on toothpicks slowly making their way into your chops (do not allow the sauce to hit your blouse in the process!).
Fun fact: In our weekly slang study (which does not exist), we research that calling a person a “meatball” is like calling them clumsy. So do not be a “meatball” whilst ingesting your meatballs inside the hood. I’m now no longer certain I like in which direction that is going… (Please forget about the previous couple of judgements).
Tefteli are just like the Slavic model of Swedish meatballs. You’ll be glad to realize those meatballs are short and smooth to whip up and that they have been a large hit with the kiddos! And they re-warm well. And you should purchase a jar of crunchy child dills to go along with those.
Ingredients for Chicken Meatballs (Tefteli):

1 – 1 1/4 lb floor hen (I used floor hen thighs)
1 cup cooked white rice, cooled to room temp or colder
1 big egg
1 small onion, grated
1 garlic clove, pressed
half tsp salt (I used sea salt)
1/4 tsp pepper
half cup flour for dredging
2 Tbsp oil (I used greater LIGHT olive oil)
Ingredients for the Sauce:

2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp flour
2 cups decreased sodium chicken broth
1/4 cup bitter cream (or greek yogurt, or heavy cream)
half to one tsp paprika (extra if you want a bit spice on your life)
Salt and Pepper to taste
Freshly chopped parsley for garnish
How to Make Chicken Meatballs in a Cream Sauce:

1. In a big bowl, integrate ground chicken, 1 cup cooked rice, 1 egg, grated onion, 1 pressed garlic clove, half tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp pepper. Mix well. Roll the beef into 1 to 1 1/4″ balls, then roll the balls in flour, dusting off excess.
2. Heat a big skillet over medium warmness and upload 2 Tbsp oil. Transfer meatballs into the skillet and sauté for four minutes on the primary side, then turn them over with tongs and sauté every other three minutes or till golden brown on all facets and cooked through, then take them away to a plate.
3. In the identical pan over medium warmth, soften 2 Tbsp butter, then whisk in 2 Tbsp flour and preserve blending till golden in color. Whisk in 2 cups hen broth and stir till it begins to evolve to thicken. Add 1/4 cup bitter cream and season to taste. I added half a tsp of paprika, half a tsp of sea salt, and 1/8 tsp of black pepper.
4. Bring sauce to a simmer and stir till sauce thickens sufficiently to gently coat a meatball, then stir withinside the meatballs, turning them to coat (keep in mind sauce will thicken extra because it cools). Once the meatballs are heated up, take them away from the warmness and sprinkle with clean parsley or dill.
Serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles. I cherished them with pickles (there is simply something notable about child dills—allow me to realize ifyou agree!).
